Losing weight for many people is a difficult process, which is not made any easier by the conflicting, and sometimes dangerous, advice out there. In today’s modern world we are constantly bombarded with TV programmes, advertising and social media feeds full of pictures of food, making the temptation to indulge overwhelming.
Then we are told to lose weight there are weight loss pills and other commercial weight-reducing programmes which focus upon restricting what you eat, rather than considering how you eat, or what you think about the food you are putting into your body. With all the advertising we see daily, it’s no surprise many of us have developed certain negative mindsets around what we put in our bodies.
When we are babies, we learn to associate feeding with the comfort of our mothers. Some experts believe this association never really leaves us, so, when life gets stressful, we revert to those early days of complete dependency. This is where emotional eating can become a problem.
